One of our students come from Africa, his family is doing clothes trading business in China. He wants to learn Mandarin because he want to do business together with his families. The mandarin now is widely used all over the world. There are many opportunities for him to do the business between his hometown and China. Therefore, he start to learn not only the Mandarin but also the Chinese culture to know about how Chinese people do business and how they think in Chinese logic. The Mandarin study do helps a lot to him.

As a Chinese teacher, I am always delighted to observe and learn from my students. One thing I have noticed in my interactions with my students is how hard most of them have to struggle during the learning process. The courses you take and the textbooks you use can of course be beneficial, but they alone cannot make you a better language learner. Too much time can be used up figuring out the meaning of words, taking notes in class, looking up words in the dictionary, or talking with friends.

As you know we have a large number of clients to learn business language. There is a common difficult position among them, that is they cannot keep the balance between working and learning. For this reason sometimes they have to cancel or reschedule the lesson.

When I introduced Pinyin to my totally zero-level client, he was so interested in the four tones and he asked me a question:” You said that tones are very important because different tones represent different characters and meanings. But how does it work when singing a song? I don’t think tones can get on well with melody, but how to settle the conflict?”

Mandarin is becoming one of the most popular and most common used languages over the world. More and more people start to learn mandarin because of their need for work, their interest or the wide spread of Chinese culture.
As a Chinese teacher in KirinMandarin, I really enjoy teaching my students from different countries. I am happy to see many students with different background working hard to learn Chinese. Their improvement in Mandarin will bring them happiness and make use in their lives and work. Moreover, I am glad to share the Chinese culture with my students during teaching Mandarin. Learning is experiencing, knowing is learning.
